When the pandemic put the world on pause, anime fans were heartbroken to see conventions all kinds suddenly disappear. In the process building Funimation's physical event, we knew the community needed that magic back ASAP, so we brought the first anime con experience online, creating a virtual space where fans could connect, celebrate, and keep the spirit alive from home.
My team was tasked in designing and producing the event, shifting our once physical event to digital.
